Advice for Road Runners: The performance orientated On Men's Cloudstratus 3 running shoes in the Black/Frost colourway deliver more cushioning and energy return than before. If you were a fan of the previous edition, you should be able to transition into the updated model with ease.

Underfoot Feel

While the On Men's Cloustratus 3 running shoes still feature a double layer of CloudTec cushioning, they now have a closed bottom. This delivers a slightly softer underfoot feel - but most importantly, stops stones from being collected.

You should expect the Cloudstratus 3 cushioning to feel propulsive. That's because a Speedboard runs the full-length of the midsole. Now with a nylon blend, it offers even more energy return than previously.

The final update includes alterations to the outsole rubber, with the purpose of delivering better traction and durability.

Upper Fit

Even though the On Cloudstratus 3's upper fits similarly to the previous model, there a few key updates. More padding and higher quality fabrics provide a plusher fit around the heel collar and tongue.

More lockdown is on offer from subtle adjustments to the midfoot wings. This enables you to tailor the fit to your foot shape.

Ideal Run Type

Even though the On Men's Cloudstratus 3 running shoes feel very protective, they deliver a responsive underfoot feel. This is ultimately down to the Speedboard that runs through the midsole. It's for this reason that we recommend using them for steadier effort runs. Especially if you're running longer distances.

While the On Cloudstratus 3 running shoes are suitable for slower paced runs, we would normally recommend softer feeling running shoes. However, if you prefer a more responsive experience, these should suit you. This would also make them an excellent all-rounder for you.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
